Let the haters hate! I sat in a meeting today at work where folks left and right were complaining about the gyms being full with, “people who won’t be there in a month” and saying,” they should just give up already cause you know they’re going to quit”. First, I have to admit I’ve probably been a Debbie downer in the past and just assumed people were all talk but I never realized how horrible this sounds. Why does society create an almost unrealistic standard for weight n looks then criticize folks for actually trying to achieve that standard. All I can say is let the haters hate. Something I learned when I trained for my first competition is that people will want you to fail no matter what you do but it’s up to us to succeed. Some will want you to fail because you’re GOING to do something they can’t.
I’ve always been one to march to the beat of my own drummer but I have my own insecurities too. I do what I do because it makes me happy. Food is great but it can be an addiction that affects more lives than porn. Sounds funny but it’s true, food in excess is welcome in so many more homes than any other vice. Obesity affects my people, whether we want to admit it or not. If you’re overweight but you’re happy than that’s all that matters but for so many others it affects their self-esteem, social lives, and relationships with people closest to them. So even if you’ve failed and given up a million times before but you want to change your life now don’t let the haters stop you.

10:30 am Meal 3: 6-7 oz. 93% lean hamburger patty, spinach, avocado, and 1 tbsp. mustard on 100% whole wheat “Oroweat Sandwich thins”.
12:45 pm Meal 4: 6 oz. chicken breast, 2/3 cup broccoli, 2-3 oz. sweet potato, and ¼ avocados
3:15 pm Meal 5: Protein shake, ½ ruby red grapefruit w/ splenda to sweeten, 6 almonds, and ½ orange.
5:30 pm Meal 6: 6 oz. chicken breast, 2/3 cup broccoli, 2-3 oz. sweet potato, and ¼ avocados
8:20 pm Meal 7: 4-6 oz. top sirloin steak, ¾ cups brown rice + 1 tbsp. Medium Pace Picante sauce, spinach, and ¼ avocados.
